Citrix - slow logins after agent installed or removed from Citrix server

I have a challenging issue that I thought someone may be able to assist with.  I've been battling this on and off, with no permanent resolve.

A bit of history: we have a Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 farm with 5 servers, and used to have LANDesk 8.7.  Citrix users use a mandatory profile and have a home directory, where settings are saved.  The "server agent" had been installed on our data collector (primary Citrix server - call it Citrix01) and license server (call it Lic01).  This caused extemely slow logins on Citrix01 (2-5 minute delays).  Removing the agent from Lic01 seemed to do the trick.  In fact, we removed the agent from Citrix01 also.  All was well, login times were as they should be.

We recently upgraded to LANDesk 8.8 SP2, and were told by a LANDesk tech (onsite) that we could use the workstation agent on our servers, and that the server agent wasn't necessary.  The workstation agent was deployed to all of our Citrix servers.  That caused the slow login problem to reappear.  I removed the agent from Citrix01 and Lic01 and rebooted both.  I should explain here our theory is that LANDesk is blocking communication between the primary/data collector server and the license server, so getting rid of it should enable communication.  That seemed to work...for a while.  The problem came back again.  As I found out, running UninstallWinAgent.exe doesn't do a complete, clean uninstall, so I deleted the folder from Citrix01 (C:\Program files\Landesk) and registry key (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\LANDesk) and rebooted.  That seemed to work for a while - problem reappeared.  I ran CCleaner against the registry on Citrix01 and removed obvious references to LANDesk (being cautious) and let it clean them up and rebooted.  Seemed to work for a while, but the problem re-appeared (seeing a pattern?).  Ran CCleaner again, and let it clean up everything (missing references, obsolete files, etc) it found in the registry, on both Citrix01 and Lic01, and rebooted.  Login times still seem to be fine, but I haven't added Citrix01 back to the farm yet, so there are no users logging in.

One theory is that once I allow users to log in, something in their profile (maybe only one or a few users) breaks it - perhaps a remnant of LANDesk in their profiles?  Logins always seem quick right after a reboot, but the amount of time after putting it back into production it takes to slow down the log in process seems to vary.  I should add that the slow login happens for any user or myself (the account I test with doesn't have a home directory or mandatory profile).  For example, yesterday at 8am I returned the server to production.  It worked fine until about 2 or 3pm.

Can anyone help?  I am okay with LANDesk not being on any of these servers, so I am not looking to reinstall it.  I've also learned since that it's not a great idea to have LANDesk on a Citrix server.  I'd like to make sure it's completely gone from these servers, if anything.  Thanks in advance for any assistance!
