Does higher version of core server support the lower version of agent?

Hi,

i am planning to upgrade LDMS 9.0 sp3 to 9.5 sp2. Please help me to understand that when i will upgrade my core server with 9.5 sp2 does all agent will still report to core server with lower agent version i.e 9.5 sp3.

1. If yes, than can we perform even patching with same agent without upgrading(agent  to 9.5 sp3) it.
2. Does client machine get automatic agent update?
3. If Not, than what is the easiest method of deplyoing the agent for upgrade  in bulk as i have more than 700 machine.

Please help me undestand these queries.
