We are running v9.6 on our Core server. We ran into an issue when i tried to push the v9.6 agent to our workstations. It seems the v9.6 agent activates the AMT device (if enabled in the BIOS) and causes it to request an additional ip address from dhcp. This happens on our machines that have static ip address and machines that use dhcp. The result was that some of our dhcp subnets ran out of available ip address.
Therefore, I have the need to disable the AMT in the bios on my HP workstations. I went to my agent settings and configured the AMT disable setting for two of our workstation types. I selected the machine type and disabled the AMT setting. We do not have BIOS passwords enabled
I scheduled the task by choosing the "Change Settings" option. Its the only way I found to schedule this change to the agent.
I pushed the changes to a machine. The task says it was successful, but the AMT is still enabled. Even after an inventory and reboot.
Anyone have any ideas?
