Agent on Core?

Hey,

I am currently building up a new LANDesk 9.5 environment, since we're still on 8.8 SP4. I know that in the past, it was not recommended to install the LANDesk Agent on the core itself. Has this changed meanwhile?

If not, is there something like an "agentless security scan" so that I know which patches are missing on the core? That way, I could at least patch it manually, since Windows Update is disabled in all our domain.
